Hillary Clinton Joins Counter-Terrorism Talks at USC

Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders also is in Southern California as the candidates prepare for another round of primaries

Former Secretary of State and Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton was joined by Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti Thursday at USC in what her campaign billed as "a conversation with the community on local homeland security and counterterrorism efforts."

The roundtable discussion comes one day after Clinton used a speech at Stanford University to further outline her strategy for defeating the Islamic State group.

"We face an adversary that is constantly adapting and operating across multiple theaters, so our response must be just as nimble and far-reaching," Clinton said. "Second, to defeat this transnational threat, we need to reinforce the alliances that have been core pillars of American power for decades. And third, we need to rely on what actually works, not bluster that alienates our partners and doesn't make us any safer."

Clinton is scheduled to remain in Los Angeles Thursday to .................. appear on ABC's "Jimmy Kimmel Live.''

Hillary Clinton retakes the lead over Bernie Sanders in Wisconsin

By dailynewsbin | March 23, 2016

The state of Wisconsin appeared to be perhaps the largest state remaining on the democratic primary calendar that Bernie Sanders could win. In last month’s polling he led the state by one percent, a narrow lead within the margin of error, but enough to give him plenty of hope for winning the state. However, brand new polling says that Hillary Clinton has retaken the lead in Wisconsin, and by no small margin.

New polling from Emerson says that Hillary Clinton now leads the state of Wisconsin by six points over Bernie Sanders.
It’s not a commanding lead but it suggests that Clinton may be benefiting from the fact that Sanders supporters are beginning to figure out he’s not going to win the nomination anyway, pivoting to her instead. Hillary now leads Bernie by 2.6 million votes, with the majority of states having already voted. But Wisconsin wasn’t going to propel Bernie back into contention even if he did win it.

Democratic delegates are awarded proportionally in all fifty states. So regardless of who wins Wisconsin, if it’s by a close margin, the delegates will be split nearly in half. That means Bernie can’t use it to close the massive gap. And this new polling data says Bernie may fall further behind as a result of Wisconsin anyway. ................

CNN/ORC poll: Clinton tops Trump on presidential traits

CNN/ORC poll: Clinton tops Trump on presidential traits

By Jennifer Agiesta, CNN Polling Director

Updated 9:36 AM ET, Thu March 24, 2016 | Video Source: CNN

Washington (CNN)If Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump, the respective front-runners in the race for the Democratic and Republican nominations for president, wind up leading their respective parties into the general, voters nationwide think Clinton would most likely win in the November election, according to a new CNN/ORC Poll.

The poll also finds Clinton would start the general election contest with an edge over Trump on several potential presidential qualifications, with the former secretary of state widely seen as better able to handle the responsibilities of being commander in chief, more in touch with the middle class and more often aligned with Americans' views on important issues.

Overall, 56% say they think Clinton would win a match-up between the two leading candidates in November while 42% say Trump would take it. Democratic voters are more convinced that Clinton would win (87% say she would) than Republicans are about Trump (75% say he would win), and Republican voters who aren't currently backing Trump are particularly skeptical of his chances. Among that group, 40% say Clinton would win, 57% Trump, vs. 92% of Trump supporters who think he would win in November.................

There are steep divides on each of these questions by gender, race and education, with women, non-whites and those with college degrees more apt to choose Clinton in each positive statement tested, but little of the age gap that defined the presidential elections that brought Barack Obama to the presidency and is currently prevalent in the Democratic nomination fight.

.............................
.
Sanders notches the highest overall favorability among registered voters, with 48% viewing him positively vs. 45% unfavorably. That's a steep drop since last month, when 60% of registered voters overall had a positive take on the Vermont senator. Sanders has seen his ratings slip among registered Democrats and Republicans during that time, and independents' impressions of him are now evenly divided.

Sestak widens lead in Senate race as Clinton, Trump top presidential candidates

Less than six weeks before the Pennsylvania primary election, Hillary Clinton dominates the Democratic presidential race in the state while Donald Trump narrowly leads the Republican contest, according to a new Franklin & Marshall College poll released Wednesday.

In the Democratic U.S. Senate race, Joe Sestak has moved to a commanding lead over Katie McGinty, the poll found.

The poll found Mrs. Clinton, a former secretary of state, U.S. senator and first lady, had the support of more than half of Democrats (53 percent) with almost three in 10 voters (28 percent) backing Vermont U.S. Sen. Bernie Sanders.

Clinton takes on Trump and Cruz at Stanford address on terrorism

I had a similiar article inLBN last night but it got locked. My own fault cause I put the link in the Title box--then fell asleep and did not notice it.

Anyway--I listed to most of the speech--strong and clear and sincere.

Hillary Clinton on Wednesday sought to position herself as the only candidate equipped to deal with international terrorism at a time her Republican rivals are calling for police monitoring of American Muslim communities, rethinking of America’s alliance with NATO and carpet bombing in the Middle East.

In tone, in body language and in the content of her speech at Stanford University, Clinton drew a stark contrast with Republicans Donald Trump and Sen. Ted Cruz, whose remarks in the wake of the Brussels bombings she labeled as "incendiary" and "dangerous."

The speech offered a preview of the approach Clinton plans to take not just toward terrorism but also toward either of the Republicans in a general election matchup.

The remarks came on a day when Clinton and her Democratic rival, Sen. Bernie Sanders, were in California, a delegate-rich state where both campaigns intend to fight fiercely for votes, even as Clinton is on track to have the nomination largely sewn up by the time the state's voters go to the polls in June.

In keeping with the state of the Democratic race, Clinton's attention was not Sanders when she stepped onto the podium to talk about terrorism. Instead, she focused on the Republicans............................
