Fritz Walter
Fritz Walter's JournalDear tRump: We've Seen This Before. It Doesn't End Well.
Normally, I don't sign on-line petitions, but if I could sign this one, I would!
Their goal is to get 5,000 signatures and they're up to 3,181 on Saturday morning.

The idea that any group of American citizens should be singled out, profiled and discriminated against isnt only profoundly un-American. Its against everything that we stand for as American Jews.
Thats why were creating our own registry to fight back. We need thousands of American Jews to be courageous and stand up against Trumps terrifying plan. By acting quickly and acting together we can get the attention of national media and force Trump to be held responsible.
When we say never again we mean it.
Attended the 1st Bernie campaign-organizing meeting in my neighborhood today
We has six diverse supporters at the meeting, DEEP in a heavily-Gerrymandered, Red-prone city. Nonetheless, our commitment is strong because our cause is righteous, especiously in light of the recent action by the House, vis-a-vis Syrian refugees.
Our "host" was a no-show, but we generated a lot of good ideas on our own, and promised to meet again next month -- our state's primary will be in March.
Any suggestions on how we could expand our grassroots campaign? My recommendation was to work one-household-at-a-time, block-by-block.

A tRump follower's wish list
I received this email from an acquaintance in another state, and my first reaction was to delete it after reading the first sentence.
But then I thought: this is too good not to share, and where better than here on DU?
There is actually one point one which we agree, but for entirely different reasons -- see if you can pick that one.
This is why Trump is zooming ahead. He is at least talking about issues that most Americans are concerned about. My mantra about Trump is this: I am in agreement with most of what he says. I just wish someone else was saying it but support his ability to get things done.
We are getting older and our tickers aren't what they used to be...so here is Our Special Bucket List for 2015,16...
HERE IS ALL WE WANT..
1. Hillary: in prison!
2. Put "GOD" back in America!!!
3. Borders: Closed!
4. Congress: On the same retirement & healthcare plans as everybody else
5. Congress: Obey its own laws NOW!
6. Language: English only!
7. Culture: Constitution, and the Bill of Rights!
8. Drug Free: Mandatory Drug Screening before & during Welfare!
9. NO freebies to Non-Citizens!
10. Balance the budget.
11. Stop giving away our money to foreign countries! Charge them for our help! We need it here.
12. Fix the TAX CODE!
13. IMPEACH the DICTATOR!!
And most of all.
14. "RESPECT OUR MILITARY AND OUR FLAG!!"
We the people are coming!
Only 86% will send this on. Should be a 100%.
What will you do?
Please send it on; if to only one person.
I agree with number 4. Elected Representatives and Senators should be required to participate in Social Security (especially once the income cap is raised). Furthermore, I believe that there should be one health care plan for all Americans: single-payer. OK, number 5 kinda' makes sense too.
I welcome your comments about the entire "bucket list" and will probably ruin someone's holiday by rebutting many of these arguments to the tRump-ite.
Anonymous Declares War on ISIS After Paris Attacks
Source: Huffington Post
After the Islamic State (ISIS) claimed responsibility for Fridays wave of attacks that killed more than 130 people in Paris, the hactivist collective Anonymous declared war on the terrorist faction and its supporters.
"Make no mistake: Anonymous is at war with Daesh," the enigmatic hacker group wrote on Twitter over the weekend, using an alternative name for ISIS.

Perhaps the Repug Presidential Candidates should join Anonymous...
"AMAZING" technology at work - replacing humans
Just ran across a post on FB, commenting on how "AMAZING" this piece of equipment is.
https://www.facebook.com/betty.brockporter/videos/10205953371726656/
The first thought to cross my mind was "How many good-paying jobs does this one machine replace?"
The second thought was "The Koch Brothers -- and their minions in Georgia Pacific and others in paper/wood-pulp industries -- are probably dancing a Hitler-esque jig over how this enhances their profits." (You can thank me later for avoiding orgasmic metaphors here).
Mind you, I'm well aware of the need for progress and efficiency in forestry and other agri-business. However, marveling at robotics technology should be tempered with consideration of those who are impacted directly or indirectly. That's the difference between unbridled capitalism and democratic socialism.
That's MY PRESIDENT!
At a Democratic fundraiser in Manhattan last night, President Barack Obama told the crowd what he thought about the Republicans' clown car of presidential wanna-bes:
And then it turns out they cant handle a bunch of CNBC moderators at a debate, he added to huge applause from his partisan audience. I mean, let me tell you, he added with gleeful scorn, if you cant handle those guys, you know, then I dont think the Chinese and the Russians are going to be too worried about you.

Rubio quits Senate
Or as one Florida daily newspaper put it, "...It's go to the White House or go home."
The Washington Post broke the story this morning:Marco Rubio is a U.S. senator. And he just cant stand it anymore.
I dont know that hate is the right word, Rubio said in an interview. Im frustrated.
This year, as Rubio runs for president, he has cast the Senate the very place that cemented him as a national politician as a place hes given up on, after less than one term. Its too slow. Too rule-bound. So Rubio, 44, has decided not to run for his seat again. Its the White House or bust.
Stay tuned. Film at eleven.
FL Redistricting Session implodes
A special legislative session to redraw congressional district lines ended in chaos Friday as senators staged an abrupt walkout and an angry House refused Senate requests to extend the session until next week.
Gov. Rick Scott has the power to force the Legislature to reconvene and agree on a map before a court-imposed deadline of next Tuesday, Aug. 25. Scott had no immediate comment on the latest legislative meltdown.
Facing an impasse over a remapping of Florida congressional districts, the Senate requested a conference committee to resolve their differences and the House refused.
"You don't get up and leave," said Rep. Jose Oliva, R-Miami Lakes, the House redistricting chairman, who called the Legislature "dysfunctional."
So the courts may very easily end up re-drawing Florida's congressional district lines. Cue conservatives' self-righteous indignation about "all them activist judges," simply because their elected officials can't do their jobs!
Stay tuned. Film at Eleven!

Petition: Provide Bernie Sanders Secret Service protection immediately!
I'm old enough to remember Robert Kennedy's assassination, so recent events at Senator Bernie Sanders' campaign events -- not to mention ammosexuals' and other extremists' actions -- are making me a little uncomfortable.
That's why I signed the petition asking President Obama to extend the same protection to Bernie that W extended to him during his presidential primary campaign. https://petitions.whitehouse.gov/petition/provide-bernie-sanders-secret-service-protection-immediately-leading-democratic-presidential-candidate-and-senator
(Please excuse the un-imbedded link, but I'm writing this from an iPad and it closes the browser whenever I try to embed the link into this post's text.)
Simply stated, there is too much at stake for our country's future.
JEB letter to W: You Owe Me!
According to a Boston Globe article, John Ellis BUSH wasted no time reminding his sibling that he handed the White House to Bush 43, with a little help from Bush 41's Supremes (credit where it's due).
This letter was buried in a document dump that John's campaign handed to the Globe at least four months after the Globe requested it and other documents from W's Library and Museum and were stonewalled.
I haven't the time or patience to read the letter but the Globe offers a PDF version linked inside the webpage article.
A couple of thought occur:
1. John didn't write this himself: it's neatly typed -- as opposed to hand-written in crayon -- and it uses a lot of big words that the alleged author cannot pronounce, let alone spell. If you want an indication of James' writing, look no further than this note:
2. The article points out that the letter didn't open with any congratulatory note. That's because the writer didn't need to: if anything, it should have said "You're Welcome!" Or maybe that was the message in one of the documents that is still being withheld.
Just
Elect
