Invitation to come to the other side

Dear Hillary supporters,

We are all Democrats but we are divided in our choice for president.

We all want national healthcare. We all want to slow climate change and we are all against fracking, war and the TPP. We all want Wall Street corruption to be stopped. We all want mass incarceration to stop. We are all for womens, gay and civil rights. We all want at least a $15 minimum wage and for that to increase in step with the economy. We all want elections where as many people vote as possible. In fact, we agree that it should only take being a US citizen to vote and nobody should be required to register.

The 2016 Election season has seen some ugly voter suppression. The DNC has opened as few polling places as possible in every state that has caucused and has not provided enough ballots in those states. This is an attempt to get their chosen candidate in - not yours, not Hillary - their candidate. If Hillary Clinton were not their candidate, they would be suppressing your vote to get their candidate in.

The fact that they are suppressing half of the current Democratic vote should bother you.

And if you are honest with yourselves some of your posts have been increasingly pro voter suppression in order for Hillary to win. This is at odds with your professing that you want everyone to be able to vote. This is at odds with having a fair election at all. And this is the ugliness that crops up in elections - when people do things they normally are against, in order to win.

I believe most of you can see the problem with the DNC themselves picking the nominee. The DNC will continue supporting a Wall Street candidate for the .01%. You just got lucky this election that it happens to coincide with your choice. It won't in 4 years. Hillary Clinton is running off the good will of better times - when Bill Clinton was president, as well as her being a Senator and Secretary of State. But, it is dishonest to not see the Walls Street corruption when taking money from super pacs.

As Democrats, we are united against super pacs.

Hillary Clinton is perfectly likable. But her cabinet will include someone from Goldman Sachs as her Secretary of Treasury. And, her Justice department will not prosecute any CEO committing Wall Street fraud. It will continue Barack Obama's path of letting the corporations be in his cabinet and only slapping fines on them. Hillary Clinton will sign the TPP and the Keystone XL. She will support war.

You might not like Bernie Sanders personally, but he is not likely to put us into more wars. His Justice Department would prosecute the people behind Wall Street fraud. He will refuse to sign the TPP and the Keystone XL. He will take from the war budget and put it into health care and education and creating jobs.

The Sanders supporters aren't voting for Sanders because they like a 70+ white guy who comes off as a curmudgeon. They'd vote for a 30+ black guy who said the same things. And did, when Barack Obama ran. But, Barack Obama sold us out. We are still trying to get the same things as in 2008. This time we found a candidate with a consistent history behind him. Yes, he is old. Yes, he is white. Yes, his wife isn't thin or what magazines call beautiful. But, she and her husband offer us hope and the promise to stop the corruption. We cannot vote for Hillary because she is in with the corruption. We are likely to leave the DNC over the corruption. This is a special year. Both major parties are being rejected because of blatant corruption.

You still have a chance to come with us. And we will welcome you to come.

You guys can leave the likeable Ms. Clinton and come to the unlikeable and honest Mr. Sanders. It is time to put aside the ugly partisanship.

You are invited to join us and to unite under all of our strongly held beliefs - which are actually in alignment.

Sanders Takes 30-Point Bite out of Clinton Lead in NY

A poll released Friday shows that Bernie Sanders has significantly narrowed the lead Hillary Clinton once claimed in New York.

The new Emerson College poll (pdf) shows Clinton leading Sanders among Democratic primary voters in the state by 18 points—56 percent to 38 percent. That marks a significant drop in support for the former secretary of state since the same poll was taken less than one month ago.

The mid-March Emerson poll showed Sanders trailing Clinton by 48 percent; she claimed 71 percent compared to his 23 percent.

The new results also show Sanders having gained 6 points with African Americans and 23 points with Hispanics since the previous poll. The one group Sanders claims a lead over is young voters, having 60 percent of support from those aged 18-34 compared to Clinton's 36 percent.

Sanders Significantly Narrows Clinton's Leads in California, Pennsylvania

The Pennsylvania poll showed Sanders behind Clinton among likely Democratic voters 44 percent to 50 percent in the closed-primary state; previous polling had Clinton ahead by a full 17 points. The margin of error was 4.3 percentage points.

Echoing previous polling that shows Sanders' strength as a general election candidate, Quinnipiac's poll also found Clinton tying with Cruz in a general election match-up, while Sanders beat both Trump and Cruz handily.

And in California, which offers the significant prize of 475 delegates to the nominating convention, a poll (pdf) released Friday also showed Sanders slimming Clinton's lead to only six points.

.

Moreover, the poll shows that in the delegate-heavy state, "Sanders is supported by a greater than four-to-one margin among voters age 18-29." Sanders also leads among renters, while Clinton is supported by a majority of homeowners, those making more than $100,000 per year, and voters over 65. The poll shows the candidates running "about even" among moderate and low-income voters.

.
.
The speed with which Sanders has gained on Clinton in polls in the two states also reflects the nationwide momentum Sanders' campaign has gathered since his Wisconsin win beat expectations last week.

Panama law firm says data hack was external, files complaint

Source: Reuters

The Panamanian lawyer at the center of a data leak scandal that has embarrassed a clutch of world leaders said on Tuesday his firm was a victim of a hack from outside the company, and has filed a complaint with state prosecutors.

Founding partner Ramon Fonseca said the firm, Mossack Fonseca, which specializes in setting up offshore companies, had broken no laws and that all its operations were legal. Nor had it ever destroyed any documents or helped anyone evade taxes or launder money, he added in an interview with Reuters.

Company emails, extracts of which were published in an investigation by the U.S.-based International Consortium of Investigative Journalists and other media organizations, were "taken out of context" and misinterpreted, he added.

"We rule out an inside job. This is not a leak. This is a hack," Fonseca, 63, said at the company's headquarters in Panama City's business district. "We have a theory and we are following it," he added, without elaborating.

If this is true then we can hope for more tax havens to be hacked and leaked. I hoping for the Caymans - since the Clintons are so connected to them.

Huffington Post has Bernie at 56.4 we're hoping for 57

http://www.huffingtonpost.com

Huffington post of course plays down Bernie's win, BUT look at the numbers. Maybe we will hit 57, and 56.4 is way better than the 53% called earlier tonight.

Look at the map! Bernie took nearly every county:

A vote today for Hillary Clinton is a vote for endless, stupid war - Julian Assange Feb 29th

Hillary didn't just vote for Iraq. She made her own Iraq. Libya is Hillary's Iraq and if she becomes president she will make more.

I have had years of experience in dealing with Hillary Clinton and have read thousands of her cables. Hillary lacks judgement and will push the United States into endless, stupid wars which spread terrorism. Her personality combined with her poor policy decisions have directly contributed to the rise of ISIS.

Pentagon generals objected to destroying the Libyan state. They felt Hillary did not have a safe post-war plan. Hillary Clinton went over their heads. Libya has been destroyed. It became a haven for ISIS. The Libyan national armory was looted and hundreds of tons of weapons were transferred to jihadists in Syria. Hillary's war has increased terrorism, killed tens of thousands of innocent civilians and has set back women's rights in the Middle East by hundreds of years. Having learned nothing from the Libyan disaster Hillary then set about trying do the same in Syria.

Hillary publicly took credit for the destruction of the Libyan state. On hearing that the country's president had been killed by her handiwork, she became wild-eyed and gloated "We came, we saw, he died!". In the momentary thrill of the kill, she had aped, of all people, Julius Ceaser.

Hillary's problem is not just that she's war hawk. She's a war hawk with bad judgement who gets an unseemly emotional rush out of killing people. She shouldn't be let near a gun shop, let alone an army. And she certainly should not become president of the United States.

How to Hide a Billion Dollars

Source: The Guardian

A network of secret offshore deals and vast loans worth $2bn has laid a trail to Russia’s president, Vladimir Putin.

An unprecedented leak of documents shows how this money has made members of Putin’s close circle fabulously wealthy.

Though the president’s name does not appear in any of the records, the data reveals a pattern – his friends have earned millions from deals that seemingly could not have been secured without his patronage.

The documents suggest Putin’s family has benefited from this money – his friends’ fortunes appear his to spend.

Woman Accused of Kidnapping Baby at Mall

Source: ABC News

The incident began when Amoore "struck up" a conversation with the baby's mother and her family at the mall, the Montgomery County District Attorney's Office said today. The mother says Amoore then followed them to the food court.

While Ahsir's mother helped her older son, Amoore asked if she could pick up the baby, but Ahsir's mother said no, according to the affidavit. Ahsir then started to cry and "Amoore stood up from the table and took the baby from his stroller and was trying to console him," the affidavit states.

"The mother said she was distracted by the other children and looked away momentarily to reach into her diaper bag and when she turned back Amoore ran off with the baby," the affidavit states. "The mother started to chase after her, but lost sight of her when she turned back to check on her other son who was still at the table."

State Department halts review of Clinton emails at FBI request

Source: Reuters

"The State Department consulted the FBI about this in February, and in March the law enforcement agency asked the State Department to halt its inquiry.

"The FBI communicated to us that we should follow our standard practice, which is to put our internal review on hold while there is an ongoing law enforcement investigation ," State Department spokeswoman Elizabeth Trudeau told reporters.

"The internal review is on hold, pending completion of the FBI's work," she added." We'll reassess next steps after the FBI's work is complete."

Is Hillary Clinton Running Away From Political Reality?

Team Hillary should be extremely worried.

It’s not just that she has suffered landslide losses in the past five caucus states. It’s that she’s overwhelmingly lost the youth vote of all colors, everywhere, and she’ll never get it back.

As this new Wisconsin poll shows: Sanders leads Clinton 49% to 43%. Sanders leads among all African-Americans 51% to 40%. Sanders leads among 18 to 45 year olds 65% to 28%.]

Not only is the youth vote incredibly one-sided, but so is the enthusiasm. Hillary’s vulnerabilities with young people include her perceived untrustworthiness, her emails, her vote for the Iraq War, and her shape-shifting establishment politics. But it all gets wrapped up into what she derogatively calls Bernie’s “single issue” — Wall Street.
