Paul Manafort faces 305 years

Paul Manafort could face the rest of his life -- and almost 300 years or more -- in prison, a federal judge said Tuesday.

"Given the nature of the charges against the defendant and the apparent weight of the evidence against him, defendant faces the very real possibility of spending the rest of his life in prison," federal judge T.S. Ellis III of the US District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia wrote Tuesday.

Manafort, 68, has been under similar home arrest and bail conditions for a separate case in Washington, DC, federal court that was filed in late October.

GOP Leaders To Seek Halt To Pennsylvania Congressional Map Theyre about to ask the U.S. S. C.

HARRISBURG, Pa. (AP) – Republican leaders of the Pennsylvania Legislature say they’re about to ask the U.S. Supreme Court to halt the imposition of new congressional district maps, two days after they were announced by the state’s highest court.

House Speaker Mike Turzai says he and his Senate counterpart will request an emergency stay Wednesday of what he called a “completely partisan, ultimate gerrymander.”

Missouri Bill Would Restrict Marriage To People Of Faith

The bill would define marriage as being a union that takes place only in religious institutions.

Any marriages that were to take place outside of the church, for example in a registry office, would only be recognised as “domestic unions.”

Sponsors of the bill say that the change in definition would work to protect churches and businesses against “gay encroachment.”

Leechburg Police Chief Arrested, Charged With Underage Solicitation

The police chief of Leechburg is being charged with felony counts of underage solicitation.

The state Attorney General’s Office is charging Chief Michael Diebold with unlawful contact with a minor and criminal attempt to commit involuntary deviate sexual intercourse.
