Trying to tactfully expose racists that claim they are not racist

I know this is totally anecdotal, but please take it for what it is.

Lately, my work has put me in contact with a number of Trump supporters. As people, I have nothing against them and have actually enjoyed the chance to talk politics with a few of them.

When it comes to race relations there is one thing that many of them complain about. They complain that they are unfairly being labeled as racists.

So, as a the devil's advocate, I ask them how they would feel if Blacks and/or Hispanics were to ever become the majority in this country?

Again, this is totally anecdotal, but so far I haven't met a Trump supporter that would be totally OK with that. When they get over the initial impact of the question, their answers vary, but one thing is very apparent- race matters to them when it comes to what group is in the majority, and the idea of whites in the minority is not "American" to them.

My plan is to be nice and keep talking. The job I'm doing will last until the end of September and I want to keep it and get along with everyone else I'm working with. I am never going to call anyone a racist, but I fully intend to have them think a little about themselves.

I wonder how this current worker shortage is squaring with the Ayn Rand crowd

Doesn't this current situation not prove that the workers hold up the bosses and the companies more than the other way around, or at least that it all balances out and we all work together?

Rand's premise that the world is held up on the backs of the rich just doesn't work in reality.

Of course he is; Trump and his morons are part of Putin's plan to weaken America. Meanwhile he poisons his opposition.

Oregon GOP legislator ousted for role in allowing breech of Oregon State Capitol

"SALEM, Ore. — The Oregon House of Representatives ousted Republican Rep. Mike Nearman Thursday night, the first time in state history a sitting Oregon lawmaker has been expelled.

The tally was 59-1, with the only vote against coming from Nearman himself. He showed no contrition during brief comments on the floor of the House.

Nearman was removed for the disorderly behavior of allowing rioters into the closed Capitol building during a special legislative session on Dec. 21, 2020.

His actions led to dozens of people — some armed and wearing body armor — gaining access to the Capitol, thousands of dollars in damage and six injured Salem and Oregon State police officers."

What the hell is wrong with the DOJ?

Is everyone else hearing their statements saying things like no evidence Trump cleared Lafayette Square to have his picture taken, and that there was no evidence the rioters at the Capitol on Jan 6 wanted capture and harm anyone in the building? This is messed up! This don't believe your eyes stuff is getting too much.

We've all watched over the last 4 years how justice never seems to come to certain people in this land. Please tell me that we will have an investigation. Certainly there will be justice, right?

We've heard a lot of republicans whining that there shouldn't be an investigation. Can these whinners actually stop an investigation?

To say America has problems with racists is not the same as saying America is a racist country

This is where I believe the right wingers try to confuse things.

If you say America has a racist history they immediately jump to the conclusion that you are calling all of America racist.

I hate to make blanket statements, but sometimes a blanket statement is appropriate. As a whole, the right is literally taking the side of a policeman who sat on a guys neck for 9 minutes and killed him. Everything I've heard on the radio from the right today has been more in favor of Dereck Chauvin than it is for George Floyd.
