Democrating Wrong-Omar and Warren and Priorities

There are a few here so obtuse to completely miss the point of my post that I had to respond to what was said about ME.

First off-Many you ARE Democrating wrong. If you have more knowledge about Omar than Senator Warren's needed and bold proposal to break up big tech, what are you doing here? Omar is one of 535 with an opinion. That's it. Liz could be in a position to change the world. Priorities.

Second-I disagree passionately with what she said. I don't hate her. Some can't separate the two. See Democrating wrong.

Third-I was physically threatened (probably not alone in that) for canvassing for Obama. Don't EVER say I don't love that man. But part of why I took that risk is because of what I know comes next-respect for her opinions. Not agreement, but respect. He won't ask me to vilify her and that is a big reason we love him. See Democrating correctly.

Fourth-this is forest for trees stuff. Our foreign policy has been an abject disaster since the 50's. No one President can sandblast this political rot off of the Pentagon. Obama didn't. Maybe he should have tried harder. Her point if not the target of her ire, stands validly.

Fifth as of right now, thanks to hyperbolic and predictable responses to molehills like this, we are on track to LOSE. Badly. We have to understand the difference between consequential leaders who stir pots and rookies who don't even know where the spoon is. There is no reason to be this upset over one person speaking her mind. When you do get this upset, what happens is our opponents get stronger, figure we are easy pickings, and keep our turnout down. Seen this movie before.

You still don't get it. She is going to say what she wants to say. You don't have to like it. Be done with her if that is your choice. Criticize and yell and have a big ol' hissy if that is your pleasure. But don't expect to win. This universe has a way of giving back the energy you put out. See Democrating correctly-see what Elizabeth Warren has to say about oligarchy and too big to fail and the need for fairness. Think about what is really important, because an opinion about Barack is as weighty as a loose feather. It is all emotion. No substance. Stay focused. Brush it off. Move forward:

The way Barack Obama would want it.

Don't like what I say? Guess what you don't have to listen now do ya? But at some point we have to stop hating those we disagree with.

Or maybe we are not as immune to sophistry as we like to think?

Omar Has Opinions. Get Used To It.

I don't care what the media has to say. I read these quotes. I am not in agreement. So what? Omar didn't sign some pledge that requires her to think like me. I think she is misinformed to a degree, but that does not make me more important. I am proud of my association with the Obama era. I believe there are more than a few things she is off base about.

That is disagreement. That's it. The way the press would is presenting it is something akin to a disciple spitting on their religious savior. That is spin. Spin is poison to a free country. Now disagreement? That is something we used to use as an ingredient for self-governance.

I don't know what goes on obviously, and I am not saying Barack is or was perfect, but this freshman rep is not likely to have any understanding of the inner workings or agendas of the Chiefs. But this I believe-Barack Obama did not lie with a straight face to enter us into an unwinnable war with no foreseeable conclusion and endless sacrifice, or completely destabilize the region by handing Syria to Russia.

So on this continuum of rage, the letters W and DJT should in this case, precede B and O. That said we do need to have a real conversation about a recalibration of our military approach and a reassessment of this commitment to manifest destiny the USA seems to be addicted to. Understand this-that is something that one could hypothetically express to someone over a friendly lunch. No rage. Just points of view.

I don't in any way shape or form take kindly to comparing Trump and Barack. That is the reality. There is a way of responding to that without giving an appearance of disarray however.

We must stay focused and I must say the media is making a concerted effort to divide us, and it seems only us.

In an world where people of color and the LGBT community is no longer low hanging fruit for the right wing, we can count on them to use Islam as a cudgel. Like another DU member said, (apologies for not remembering it is on a now blocked post) it will always be something, don't you see? If it isn't real, they will just make something up, some TV corporoslut will point out something AOC said, or Omar, or dredge up Lewisnsky and look at the camera to tell you with a straight fucking face that multiple felonies and an indiscreet sexual favor are "both sides behaving badly."

Cutting healthcare for millions while complaining about Amazon's lack of tax burden is "both sides being out of touch."

That in mind, whether we love Omar, or AOC, or not, is also not relevant. What is is that we are remember what the media is and that whores are gonna whore. So us constantly bickering over these freshmen is nothing more than than driving up on the political street corner and asking how much.

We have been fucked enough already-we don't need to do it to ourselves.

When the time is right a pro like Biden will go right after his opponents but do so in a way that preserves his dignity.

You should not be offended by Joe's unwillingness to insult.

Joe cares. But he also believes in honor.

His example is something we should all aspire to: A world where kicking someone's ass doesn't require you to be one.

Liz Reparation Question

I assume her advisers will at some point go back to taking another shot at New Coke cola given the "brillance" they have shown. But let's say Native Americans do get reparations. What counts? I am at least 1/8 to 1/4 ( still verifying.) Not making light-how does someone make this decision?

By the way what exactly might be the qualifications to work on a presidential campaign? Not drooling?

Why is such an awesome candidate getting such lousy advice?

Advising Biden To Wait Is A Mistake

I love Joe. I think he would be a great President. But waiting as long as he can is not ideal, because with this many candidates, the $$ and oxygen are drying up.

This process has started early, to be sure, and that frustrates even me, this never ending election thing. But the fact is, he is not an 800 lb elephant. I don't think there has been a more talented array of candidates for a major party nomination in the history of our country. We are not desperate to have Joe run, as good as he can be. This is another reason it is imperative he makes up his mind. Hesitation at this stage of a career, when so many others have the taste in their mouth, gives me pause about the fire to take on Trump. Make no mistake, it will be no cakewalk no matter who runs on either side, and I need to know that there is a fire in the belly, quelled by nothing other than the intense desire to defeat the GOP. I can't vote for someone with trepidation.

You have to know. If there is not that certainty, that, full steam ahead, as much as I love and respect Joe, I ask him to defer. If he is truly ready, I am too. But I can't wait all that much longer, my efforts and $$ have to go somewhere.

I can't stress this enough, it will take unfathomable determination to defeat this cabal. It can't just be "Nice to be President, if it works out."


It must be "It is imperative that I become President, and I WILL BE."

Fake News! (Kamala Harris Rebukes Beto O'Rourke's Call to Tear Down Existing Border Barriers)

This is the kind of garbage we are up against. Courtesy of Eric Ting, this hyperbole filled lede is the EXACT press we need to guard against.

First let's start with the definition of rebuke-

express sharp disapproval or criticism of (someone) because of their behavior or actions.
"she had rebuked him for drinking too much"
synonyms: reprimand, reproach, scold, admonish, reprove, remonstrate with, chastise, chide, upbraid, berate, take to task, pull up, castigate, lambaste, read someone the Riot Act, give someone a piece of one's mind, haul over the coals, criticize, censure;

So what did she say?

"No, I believe that we need border security," Harris said. "But we need smart border security. We can't have open borders, we need to have border security, all nations do. All nations define their borders, but we should not have a policy and perspective that is grounded in keeping people out for the sake of this nationalistic kind of thing this president is trying to push."

In responding to an idea of Beto's, she did not mention him by name and in the most polite tones expressed a simple disagreement of policy prescriptions.

This needs to be addressed. In fact I propose we have a forum dedicated to maintaining unity by investigating and exposing naked embellishments of statement. Fact check the wording, tone, approach, and motives. We can file it under Nomination Unity Preservation.

If you read this title, without the full context of the statement, you might think Senator Harris launched a full broadside against Beto.

We are all family. We must stay united. Their best shot to continue a subversion of democracy is to have journalists drive a false narrative of in-fighting. We must take up the mantle of keeping the record straight.

When you hear of so called arguments and family division, verify and if possible, like this, debunk.

Smollett Media IS Not About Ratings It Is About Kamala

Senator Harris is the one that got out front and called it a modern day lynching, though I may be paraphrasing. She took him at his word. Now SOMEBODY controlling the press is very interested in making sure that this gets politically wrapped around her neck. A minor celebrity, Smollett is nothing more than pawn in the right wing's battle to mindfuck America. Now, understand that this, coupled with CNN's disturbing recent hire is evidence that elements of evil are still feeling confident.

So we shouldn't. In fact these developments give me the most pause as to the outcome of the SC investigation. (However Putin may have tipped us off to his hand because threatening another Cuban Crisis comes off as something he is saying to the NEXT President.)

But I digress. This is intended to be a problem for Kamala and sooner or later she will be asked to answer for what will be termed reactionary rhetoric, or judgment, or something, and that isn't fair, but in a country with a crime family at the helm a troubled young man with a history of embellishment and a fucking black eye is leading nightly network news. Do the math. Had the number one threat to the cabal not been outspoken America would be asking Jussie who? Now this won't stop her. This woman is far too smart for that. She will take care of it on her way to the ticket in some form, and the next Democratic administration. And a proud day that will be.

I am putting this out there because I feel we are being sandbagged somehow. If you told me they attacked this guy, after researching his history, using people he knew, just to make it look like he set it up, just to make our top guns look like asses, it would not surprise me. I know that sounds conspiratorial and NO, I am NOT saying this is what happened. But I also know the name LaQuan, I see that a deliberate attempt to leak to right wing media has been the methodology and I am telling you, the biggest mistake we can make, is underestimating the floor of their depravity.

There is none.

I am fresh out of incredulity. Literally nothing these cretins could do would shock me. Nothing. Zero. I am prepping for battle as if unadulterated evil is my enemy, with no morals, no lines, no limits to their actions. I hate that it has come to this.

Maybe Smollett is guilty. But this just goes to show that the RW machine still can make any molehill into a mountain at a moment's notice.

I'm not that smart.

But I for fuck sure am not that stupid.

I Am A Disgusted Catholic

thank you in advance for putting up with me-I don't normally post this much but I need to vent. Facebook is a nightmare to express oneself. Reading about two Cardinals blaming the LGBTQ community for the church's deviancy virus has made my blood boil, my pressure raise, my face turn red, and my head hang in shame.

Homosexuality is not a mental illness. It is a state of being. A trait. I have blue eyes and married a woman. Some men have brown eyes then marry a man. That's it. Deal with it, respect it, and whatever you do, DO NOT CONFLATE IT WITH DEPRAVED SEXUAL DEVIANCY.

Do not try to tell us that child abuse is due to a homosexual agenda. What is wrong with you? Years of abuse, scores of scarred, emotionally destroyed children, now adults, and you are still trying to cast people with different sexual preferences as villains in a horror movie your own brethren wrote the script for? You convene your summits. You just have a big summit festival, and ask yourself all of the questions you want. Ask yourself how child abuse infected your church stem to stern. Ask yourself how well you handled it. Ask yourself how much you covered it up. Ask yourself who God will really be mad at-the loving gay couple adopting a child in need of a family, or the deviants who perversely destroyed lives.

My God doesn't rationalize evil, Father Dearest. Does yours?

Calm Down, Think: Why Would William Barr

whitewash a mess if evidence is substantial against anyone in the inner circle? After all his career, why in the world would he start bailing water on a ship splitting at the bow? This isn't his issue. He wasn't involved. He can't be stupid. Would you assify yourself like that? I sure wouldn't.

We now have to have faith that once again duty will prove more buoyant than partisanship.

It is the only thing that keeps the ship of democracy from sinking.

Answers come in due time, just rarely, according to our time. If evidence is suggestive of guilt, I have confidence justice will be rendered. If the evidence proves inconclusive, or insufficient then we must be prepared to fight for the White House against an emboldened President in 2020.

We must not assume anything, take anything for granted, or be jump to conclusions that later paint the party into a corner.

And so we wait..if ever so impatiently.
