Al Jazeera reporter killed during Israeli raid in West Bank

Source: Associated Press

Veteran Al Jazeera journalist Shireen Abu Akleh, one of the satellite channel’s best-known reporters, was shot and killed on Wednesday while covering an Israeli military raid in the occupied West Bank. The broadcaster and two reporters who were with her blamed Israeli forces.

The Israeli army initially suggested that Abu Akleh might have been killed by stray fire from Palestinian militants. But the military chief, Lt. Gen. Aviv Kohavi, later stepped back from that assertion, saying it was unclear who had fired the deadly bullet.

Abu Akleh’s death could draw new scrutiny of Israel’s military justice system, which is being examined as part of a war crimes probe conducted by the International Criminal Court. It also threatened to further strain often rocky relations between the army and the international media.

When will the US stop funding this terrorism?

Is it me, or did Pelosi seem POed at McConnell

When she stated that he chose not to accept the impeachment before Don the Con was out of office. Like she said it was his excuse to vote the way he did.

I think that they should change the National Anthem to this:

This Land Is Your Land
Words and Music by Woody Guthrie

This land is your land, this land is my land
From California to the New York island,
From the redwood forest to the Gulf Stream waters;
This land was made for you and me.

As I was walking that ribbon of highway
I saw above me that endless skyway;
I saw below me that golden valley;
This land was made for you and me.

I've roamed and rambled and I followed my footsteps
To the sparkling sands of her diamond deserts;
And all around me a voice was sounding;
This land was made for you and me.

When the sun came shining, and I was strolling,
And the wheat fields waving and the dust clouds rolling,
As the fog was lifting a voice was chanting:
This land was made for you and me.

As I went walking I saw a sign there,
And on the sign it said "No Trespassing."
But on the other side it didn't say nothing.
That side was made for you and me.

In the streets of the city, in the shadow of the steeple,
By the relief office I seen my people;
As they stood there hungry, I stood there asking
Is this land made for you and me?

Nobody living can ever stop me,
As I go walking that freedom highway;
Nobody living can ever make me turn back
This land was made for you and me.

It certainly would go a very long way to bringing unity to the country, as far as I'm concerned.
And don't leave out the last three verses. They are the most important.

Don't be so complacent folks. Even if Dems have House/Senate/Presidency

Even when the Dems have that slim majority in the Senate, there are still Dems who often vote with the Cons, so there is still work to do. People like Joe Manchin more often than not, vote with RepubliCONs. We should not sit on our butts. We must remain active. If we are not active, and participate in our democracy, there are very well funded powers who will take it from us. This has been tried many times, and often we have escaped by the skin of our teeth. We must remain vigilant, or our democracy crumbles to nothingness.

I don't understand all the calls for impeachment.

Don't these people realize that impeachment will go nowhere. There would be no chance of prosecution with Moscow Mitch in charge.

Therefore, I feel that it would be better to charge him with all of his crimes at 12:01 on 21 January. That way there could be a proper trial by the courts, not by his lackeys in the Senate, and he could be charged with his many offenses since he took office. Granted, he would spend a lot of time in the courts, but many of the charges will stick, resulting in jail time. He could end up in prison for the rest of his life if we are lucky.

I am certain that New York State will apprehend him shortly after he is out of office, and proceed to try him for his crimes in New York. Will other states join in? It would do well to serve justice.

Then there are the more than 350,000 counts of negligent homicide that he should answer to, but I will not harp on that one.

He needs to go to jail for the rest of his life, and this can only be accomplished in the courts.

So, forget impeachment, get him when he is out of office.
