Can someone explain this about Joshua Brown (Guyger witness)

Joshua Brown, the witness in the Guyger trial who was recently shot to death, was also a witness to another shooting, in which the suspected shooter, who also shot Brown, is out on bond:

https://www.nydailynews.com/news/national/ny-joshua-brown-shot-killed-witness-guyger-botham-jean-dallas-20191007-itzbrsujbrc5llfuqvhhxz7rfm-story.html

Brown had himself been wounded in a separate shooting, last November, outside a nightclub in northwest Dallas, according to reports. After a fistfight between him and another man, someone pulled a gun and began shooting, WFAA said. The conflict left another man dead.

In that shooting, Kendall Deshonn Morris, 26, was charged with murder in the death of 25-year-old Nicholas Shaq’uan Diggs, according to The Dallas Morning News at the time. Morris is out on bond, reported WFAA-TV.

There is a high level of certainty among DUers that Brown was shot in some kind of "revenge" for his testimony in the Guyger case, even though she pretty much sunk herself with her own testimony by stating that she intended to kill the person she believed to be in her apartment. Texas homicide statutes are very unlike those of many other states and plain "murder" is simply unlawful homicide with intent to kill. In other words, a mistake of fact is not as important as whether the person had a homicidal intent.

Be that as it may, Brown is obviously a witness in the murder trial of Kendall Morris, who also shot Brown.

After testifying in the Guyger trial, Brown moved out of the complex where Guyger and Jean had both lived, which would certainly be a good idea for a shooting victim and prospective murder witness whose address was made a matter of national news coverage.

But, in all of this, I'm curious to know what facts lead people to be so certain that his murder has to do with his testimony in the Guyger case. Shooting someone after they testify seems much less effective than shooting them before they testify, and his upcoming testimony would apparently have been important, considering that he was a participant in the altercation that led to the death of Nicholas Diggs.

So, if you are sure it was the Dallas police, can you explain the facts and reasoning that lead you to exclude persons related to the other murder case in which he was one of the people shot?

More info on that other shooting here:

https://www.dallasnews.com/news/crime/2018/12/13/man-arrested-in-fatal-shooting-outside-dallas-strip-club-after-thanksgiving/

While at one of the clubs, the group ran into Brown, who also went to the strip club on Walnut Ridge.

The second suspect waited for Brown outside the club to fight him. The men fought in the middle of the street. Afterward, Brown and his friends tried to leave, according to an arrest warrant affidavit.

That's when Morris reached into a Chevrolet Avalanche, pulled out a gun and handed the weapon to the other suspect, witnesses told police, the warrant says.

Confiscation is a canard - who confiscated the lawn darts?

You don’t have to “confiscate all the guns”.

But... people can’t show up at the range with them, or generally carry them in public. As soon as someone has one in public, no one has to wait for them to shoot. If the weapon is in plain view during a domestic disturbance, traffic stop, or any other law enforcement encounter, then it is not simply a lawful firearm sitting over there in the corner or in the back of the car. Those types of things, plus the attrition due to inability to transfer, or owners’ estates disposing of them, will significantly reduce the ability of people to casually own and transport these weapons.

On top of that, there will be a reduced incidence of stolen weapons or circumstances where a young person runs off with mom or dad’s weapon, since many actually law abiding people will dispose of them.

There was no national confiscation program for lawn darts. When was the last time you saw one?

Leading Haruspex Certain of Democratic Victory

Britain’s leading haruspex, Mathghamhain son of Arthmael has successfully predicted the date of 29 of the last 30 solstices by inspecting the entrails of animals.

Upon recently vivisecting the liver of a donkey, he observed a thick black bile. “Normally, that would not bode well for them, but with mercury in retrograde, well, you can just see how this portends a Democratic wave election.”

Stark Proof That Trump Has No Real Estate Sense

Think about this.

If we buy Denmark, then we get Greenland for free.

We can buy Denmark, subdivide out Greenland, sell Denmark to the British so they'll have an EU territory, and end up with Greenland AND cash in our pocket!

What a moron that man is.

Attention Undecideds - there are now 4,593 candidates for president

https://www.fec.gov/data/candidates/?office=P

Out of those 4,593, there are 961 who are Democrats (you can pick a filter on the left of the list).

Now, c'mon, out of 961 candidates, there has to be one who is a good fit for you.

Surely, MR. FREDERICK CAMIGLA NETTLETON, SENIOR has to light a fire under someone.

Or how about RAY MADRIGAL DE PANCHO VILLA?

Certainly we have a better field of candidates than, say, the Communist Party, which is fielding Lord Hugh Mungus among others.

Former IRS analyst pleads guilty to leaking Michael Cohen's bank records to Michael Avenatti

https://www.cnn.com/2019/08/15/politics/irs-analyst-pleads-guilty-michael-cohen-bank-records/index.html

Fry faces a maximum of five years in prison and a $250,000 fine, according to the Justice Department. US District Judge Edward M. Chen scheduled Fry's sentencing for December 18, 2019.

The former analyst admitted to accessing a private government database from his work computer on May 4, 2018, and downloading five suspicious activity reports, or SARs, related to Michael Cohen and his company Essential Consultants, authorities say. Banks file a SAR when they review transactions that raise red flags.

Fry, who admitted he had no official reason to disclose the records, then called Avenatti twice from his personal cell phone and verbally provided information about the contents of the reports, according to the Justice Department. Fry also sent email screenshots of the reports to Avenatti from a personal email account.

Days later, on May 7, 2018, authorities say Fry conducted additional searches on Cohen and his company on the database and called Avenatti and again verbally provided his findings to him.

Yet another Avenatti roadkill left hanging.

The Pioneering Woman Of Science Whom DUers Are Going To Attack And Smear

The Chief Medical Examiner of the City of New York is no small-potatoes job. As one might imagine, it requires a person of the highest qualifications and integrity.

Dr. Barbara Sampson, the woman on the far right of the photograph below, was appointed in 2014 by Mayor Bill de Blasio, and is the first woman to occupy that office.

Dr. Sampson is also a trustee of the American Board of Pathology.

A native of New York City, Dr. Sampson earned her bachelor’s degree from Princeton University, obtained her Ph.D. in Molecular Biology at Rockefeller University, and received her degree in medicine at Cornell University Medical College, followed by a residency at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston.

She brings years of experience to her role as Chief Medical Examiner, having served as Acting Chief Medical Examiner, First Deputy Chief Medical Examiner, Senior Medical Examiner, and Cardiovascular Pathology Consultant, among other positions at OCME since 1998.

She serves as President of the Society of Cardiovascular Pathology, the Vice-Chairman of the Residency Review Committee for Pathology of the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education, and is a member of the National Association of Medical Examiners, the United States and Canadian Academy of Pathology, and the American Academy of Forensic Sciences.

Dr. Sampson has published widely on forensic pathology and microbiology, including 29 articles and 4 book chapters, and serves as an Associate Editor of the journal Cardiovascular Pathology. She is the recipient of the Young Investigator Award from the Society of Cardiovascular Pathology and the E.R. Squibb and Sons Senior Thesis Prize for Contribution to Scientific Research. Dr. Sampson is board certified in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology and Forensic Pathology and is participating in Maintenance of Certification.

Go ahead and smear her your best, DU. What sum of money do you suppose she decided to cash in a lifetime of integrity for? Post how much you think it took.

Tell me how much it takes to buy off a leading woman scientist, who was educated and came up through the ranks when science was a much more male-dominated profession, and who no doubt was discouraged by men every step of the way, in order to cover up the crimes of a man who was credibly accused of molesting girls.

I want to know what you have to do to get a woman to trade in her integrity for a job like that, so please let me know how much money you think it takes.

And, shame on you.

-----------

On edit: I have been advised to clarify that "DUers" means "persons who post to DU". It does not mean "all DUers", just as references to, for example, "white people" do not always mean "all white people". Given that I am also a DUer, one might think the meaning of the phrase was clear, but apparently not. If the comment does not apply to you, then have a great day!

Michael Avenatti is mulling a run for president again after declaring he would not seek nomination

https://www.cnbc.com/2019/08/03/michael-avenatti-is-mulling-a-2020-run-for-president-again.html

As he’s watched the almost two dozen candidates square off in the primary debates, Avenatti says he continues to believe Democrats don’t have the fighter that can take on Trump come the general election and suggested he could be the candidate to beat him.

...

“I don’t think I need to make a final decision for a number of months. I have the name ID and everyone knows I’m one of the few effective fighters that the Dems have,” he said.
