It was an old movie, playing Christmas Eve in a fairly new movie theater, and it was a new print of the movie. I got there early enough to get a great seat in the fifth row, but that seat was elevated enough, and far enough from the screen, so that my eyes were in perfect alignment with the screen. The screen enveloped my vision. My entire view ahead was this huge screen. The sound was clear and not too loud. Just right..and the movie came on.. "It's A Wonderful Life" ..In a movie theater, black and white film, with 50 to 75 other people out that night in 39 degree cloudy weather...

And I really enjoyed this experience. From the beginning to the end.. that film took me away to that man and his family's view of what dealing with others is all about. Mr Potter, the villain, was the antithesis of this family, Potter was so full of hate and greed that it flowed into all of us watching. At the end, everything was ok, as I knew it would be. I had seen it so many times that I lost count, as had the people in front of me who I talked briefly with. We had all seen it before, but this time seemed like the first. That film shows what humanity can strive for and I had a wonderful time.

One last thought.....seeing it on the big screen was an event in itself. That is how movies are really meant to be experienced.

Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) on Sunday avoided blaming New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio (D) for the shooting of two police officers in Brooklyn.

On CBS' "Face the Nation" host Bob Schieffer asked Graham about a tweet from former New York Gov. George Pataki (R) placing blame on de Blasio and Attorney General Eric Holder.

"I blame the shooter and nobody else," Graham responded.

When Schieffer asked Graham if he thought the shooting was linked to cases like the death of Eric Garner, the senator criticized the "tone" used by some leaders.

"I think the mayor of New York has probably undercut his cops, and the attorney general is trying to walk a fine line. What happened in Missouri, I understand why the cop had to defend himself. When you see the video in New York - did that man really have to die? But the tone they’re setting around the rhetoric regarding the cops incites crazy people, but I blame the shooter," Graham said.

A woman in Los Angeles discovered a swastika in the design of a roll of wrapping paper while she was shopping on Saturday in the Hanukkah section of a Walgreens, television station KNBC reported.


"I couldn't believe my eyes, I had no idea what to do," Cheryl Shapiro told the station.

Shapiro initially tried to reach her rabbi but was eventually able to get the rolls removed after complaining to the store's managers, KNBC reported.

"I told them I wanted this taken off the shelves immediately - not just your store, but national," Shapiro told the station. "I was really putting my foot down because I was appalled by this."

Evidently, the Animation Industry's Giants: Pixar, Disney, Blue Sky, DreamWorks, and others ganged up to fix wages of most workers under the guise of a "no poaching agreement". This is a very complex read, but even in this so called "creative" world, the bosses do not want to pay the workers any more a few big shots decide.. A law suit is exposing this. At first it looks like something called, "poaching" but it is really about fixing the wages of many workers and eliminate wage competition. Steve Jobs, founder of Apple "helped to establish...no-poaching pact in his role as co-founder of Pixar."

Following the release of the video, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell claimed that Rice misled the league about what had transpired in the elevator. Goodell told CBS News that “when we met with Ray Rice and his representatives, it was ambiguous about what actually happened.” He said in a league letter that the video depicted an incident that was “starkly different” than the account relayed to him by Ray Rice.

Goodell said the “new information” in the video to justify revising Rice’s punishment and suspended him indefinitely.

But a federal judge, in an arbitration proceeding, rejected Goodell’s claims and found that Rice was truthful in the June proceeding. U.S. District Judge Barbara S. Jones found that “Rice did not mislead the Commissioner at the June 16th meeting, and therefore, that the imposition of a second suspension based on the same incident and the same known facts about the incident, was arbitrary.” Jones found that the Commissioner was not “fair or consistent” in his punishment. tell them, "Show how you feel by never putting on your seat belt.., that is a government regulation that kinda holds you back. So don't put it on. You know, none of the government regulations ever help anyone anyway....."
